About Us
Our dojo is located at Long Village Shopping Center, 30808 John R, Madison Heights, MI. We offer classes in Yoshinkai Aikido, American Kenpo Karate, Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan, Children's Aikido, (ages 6-13 years) Classical Jujutsu, and Swordsmanship.
The Anshinkan Dojo is a member of the Chudokai Aikido Federation International, the Aikido Yoshinkai Foundation, and the International Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan Association. The Anshinkan has also received a commission to be a registered and accredited representative Dojo for authentic Sogobujutsu training from Martial Sciences International (MSI). We are one of the very few dojos in Michigan and outside of Japan to receive this commission.
History
The Anshinkan Dojo began in Troy, MI in January 2003, shortly after Marcus Schoon Sensei was promoted to Yondan (4th degree black belt) by Blok Kyoshi at the Chudokan Dojo in Windsor, Canada.
Our Future
It is our sincere belief that through Martial Arts training we will improve our lives. Martial Arts affects us in many positive ways, both in and out of the dojo. But it is especially in our daily lives that Martial Arts can help us aspire to all that is the best in ourselves.
